The label used in garments called Garments Label. Garments Label are the part or components attached to a garment which carries some information like the size of garments, brand name or company name, trade mark, type of fiber, care information etc.

There is minimum one or more label attached to a garment. Usually label is attached to a garment by sewing it into different place of a garment.

Different types of Garments Label:

 Basically garments label are two types-

1. Main Label and 2.Sub label  

Main Label:

Main label also called brand label. Here is written the brand name or the manufacturer’s company name. This label carries the identity of that garments so that people can easily find their expected one. Brand name or logo also indicates the product quality, durability and comfort. That’s why people usually want the garments of world class brand.

Sub Label:

Other than main label or brand label, all labels are sub label. There are many sub label found in garments and each of them carries some information.

1. Size Label:

Here is written the specific size of that garments. Size can be written in number like ‘X’ cm/‘X’ inch or in symbol like XS, S, M, L, XL. XS for extra small, S for small, M for medium, L for large, XL for extra Large.

 2. Care label:

This label gives the instructions about washing and ironing processes. These instructions are given by using some codes called care label codes. Internationally recognized care labeling codes are expressed by using five symbols-

Washing process:

These symbol indicates either washing will be done or not also include the washing temperature.

Chlorine bleaching condition:

This code indicates either chlorine bleach will be done or not.

Ironing condition:

This indicates in which different condition & temperature the ironing can be done or not.

Dry cleaning condition:

Which solvents can be used for dry cleaning is indicate here. Solvents are Perchloro ethylene, white spirit, solvent-113, solvent-11 etc.

Drying condition:

Here indicates how to dry the garments or alarm not to dry the garments in some condition.

Price Label:

Here is written the price of garments. This label helps people to buy the garments according to their affordability.

Composition Label:

Here the fiber composition of fabrics or garments is written like 100% satin fabric, 100% cotton or organic cotton etc.

Flag Label:

It is a special type of label placed at the side seam. It carries the brand logo with decorative purposes.

Batch Mark Label:

This is non-usual type label used to indicate sewing line or batch to make particular garment. Under wash care label it place by the side seam.
